Tesla PX-B017

The Tesla PX-B017 was introduced by the Pirate Clans during the Clan Wars. It fires a focused electrostatic bolt that disrupts nerve impulses in most organic lifeforms causing severe cellular damage. Due to the intense pain it inflicts it was often dialed down and used to torture prisoners. After the war the Tesla was adopted by many Civis Defense Corps in more unruly colonies, but never gained popularity among Ferrum or Imperium military. In fact the weapon is banned on most Imperium planets and classified as a torture device.

The main drawback of the PX-B017 is its bulk. Large and heavy the Tesla is notoriously difficult to aim. However it can cause a lot of damage and is quick to recharge. As well its reputation tends to offset its accuracy as most combatants would rather retreat than risk a hit, even through armor and personal shields.
