Asteroid System

Stellar Systems set out to build the best asteroid system in Second Life. It is efficient, detailed, interactive, and beautiful. As with all Stellar Systems products the goal was to use the least SIM resources possible and still achieve the greatest role play impact.  Low lag scripting plus efficient MESH modeling which takes full advantage of SL’s Advanced Lighting Model making this system a space role play essential.

Operation

  1. Rez the Asteroid Rezzer and position it approximately where you will want the center of your asteroid field to be.
  2. Click It & Choose Field ON Note: there will be a slight delay before asteroids rez – See Features*

Menu

  • Field Shape – Choose the shape of the asteroid field (Round, Wide, Tall)
  • Field Density – Set the asteroid field density (Dense, Medium, Sparse)
  • Field Radius – Set the max radius to generate the asteroid field (32-128 meters)
  • Field ON/OFF – Turns the asteroid field on and off.
    Note: Deleting the rezzer will remove all asteroids

Features

Smart Field Rez

The system does it’s best to avoid rezzing asteroids inside other objects and checks for the best location to rez each asteroid. As a result *you will notice a slight delay when you during the system on. As well larger asteroids are only generated when you choose larger field radius as to maximize playable area.

‘Roid Rage

Asteroids are destructible with effects and debris. Hit points based dynamically on asteroid size and debris is all temp rez to prevent SIM clutter.

Clean Up

You can remove your asteroid field by clicking Asteroid Rezzer and choosing Field OFF or by simply deleting the Asteroid Rezzer.
