The model B10 Grid Missile Defense System (GM-B10) is an advanced missile defense system designed for SL scifi roleplay. The system enables you to rez up to 4 missile launchers controlled by the central terminal and configure the range for each launcher to perfectly fit your defense needs.
Basic Setup
- Rez the GM-B10 Stack Terminal
- Click the screen and choose REZ from the menu and a missile launcher will appear next to the terminal
- Move the launcher into position
Repeat steps 1-3 until as you need. NOTE: The terminal will not rez two launchers on top of each other, you must move each before rezzing another.
Once you have placed all your missile platforms click the control terminal again and choose Power ON. The launchers will power up and are ready to defend.
Advanced Operation
Stack Terminals
The control terminals for all Stellar Defense Systems are designed to stack. Simply by rezzing a terminal on top of a terminal base or another terminal they will automatically line up. You can also trigger the auto-stack feature by clicking the power indicator light on the front of the terminal.
Power ON/OFF
You can power on or off all of the rezzed launchers from the control terminal. This is very convenient for creating defense zones than can be opened up to allow passage.
The power light on the front of the control terminal will turn off when you power off all launchers from the terminal or when all rezzed launchers have been destroyed.
Targeting System
- Click the Control Terminal
- Choose Targeting
There are three target modes for the system.- All will target and fire on any scripted moving object within the targeting range
- X-Group targets ships not in the same group as the missile system
- X-Owner targets any ships that do not have the same owner as the missile system
Clean Up
The GM-B10 system is designed so that cleaning up the battle field is easy. You can use the Control Terminal to clean up all of your missile platforms from the menu, or use the menu to remove individual launchers. Also all launchers will self destruct within 30 seconds if the Control Terminal is removed.
Access Control
This allows you to set access control for the Control Terminal (Missile platforms are always Owner Only).
- Click the Control Terminal
- Choose Access Control (details can be found in the Access Control User Guide)
Launcher Menu
Only the Owner has access to the missile platform menu. This allows you to customize the launchers for your operating environment.
- Activate/Deactivate – This allows you to turn missile platforms on and off individually. Comes in handy when replacing destroyed turrets.
- Range – Allows you to set the scan range for a particular launcher.
- SNAP – Position the missile platform near the surface where you want it and choose SNAP, the launcher will lock on to the surface then you can rotation it into position.
- Remove – Destroys the launcher.
- Skin – Lets you choose from the available skins
Damage System
The defense missile platforms are heavily armored but that can be destroyed. As well, the more damage a platform sustains, the less effective it becomes. Damaged missile platforms will have increasingly slower reload rates.
The damage system is the same in all Stellar Systems products. It uses standard SL collision damage so any physical weapons should be work. You can read more here, Weapon/Damage System Compatibility.
